Su definici\u00f3n se basa en que la defecaci\u00f3n se acompa\u00f1a de dolor o molestia abdominal y alteraciones del h\u00e1bito del movimiento intestinal. Los s\u00edntomas no son espec\u00edficos, ya que pueden presentarse ocasionalmente en cualquier individuo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color\">Hay dos maneras de enfocar el diagn\u00f3stico del SII; una muy pr\u00e1ctica, el ABC del s\u00edndrome:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color\">a. Abdomen doloroso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color\">b. Balonamiento abdominal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color\">c. Cambio en el h\u00e1bito defecatorio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color\">Adem\u00e1s, pueden presentar manifestaciones como distensi\u00f3n abdominal, flatulencias, borborigmos y alteraciones en el h\u00e1bito defecatorio, as\u00ed como la sensaci\u00f3n de evacuaci\u00f3n incompleta y heces con mucosidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Acci\u00f3n de los Probi\u00f3ticos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color\">Los probi\u00f3ticos se usan como un tratamiento no farmacol\u00f3gico para el s\u00edndrome de intestino irritable y para cuando se tiene el intestino inflamado. Los probi\u00f3ticos tienen mecanismos de acci\u00f3n que pueden influir sobre la fisiopatolog\u00eda compleja de esta enfermedad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color\">La evidencia de la eficacia y seguridad de los probi\u00f3ticos, en el sindrome de intestino irritable, est\u00e1 basada en diversos meta-an\u00e1lisis que muestran que estos agentes tienen un efecto limitado, pero superior al placebo, en el manejo de los s\u00edntomas de esta patolog\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color\">Los probi\u00f3ticos act\u00faan por diferentes mecanismos, que podemos clasificar en:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Mecanismos intraluminales:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color\">&#8211; Incrementa la secreci\u00f3n mucosa e inhibici\u00f3n de la adherencia de las bacterias pat\u00f3genas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color\">&#8211; Acidificaci\u00f3n del colon por fermentaci\u00f3n de nutrientes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Mecanismos epiteliales:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color\">-Incremento de la funci\u00f3n de barrera del epitelio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color\">-Disminuye la permeabilidad favoreciendo el cierre de las uniones intercelulares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><strong>3.
